What is a feasibility assessment and why is it important?
A Feasibility Assessment is the evaluation of the practicality of a proposed project or system. The Feasibility Assessment helps to identify the costs and risks associated with each area of a project’s development, and evaluates the project’s potential for success.
Designing a suitable feasibility assessment involves identifying and thoroughly examining key areas such as technical limitations, cost analysis, available resources, time, environmental issues, and/or other external factors.
By not conducting a feasibility assessment before undertaking a new project, businesses or individuals run the risk of commencing a project that may not be sustainable, or possible, to finish. Skipping the feasibility assessment stage does not save time or money because often, problems that should have been identified early in the process are not found, leading to delays and increased costs while these issues must be analysed and addressed.
