We have recently completed a comprehensive stormwater management plan for a site in Brisbane’s inner north west, forming part of the development application (DA) for the site. This was done in partnership with one of the region’s leading town planning and surveying companies.
The main challenge for stormwater management onsite was ensuring runoff into neighbouring residential properties was not worsened. This was achieved through the integration of water sensitive urban design (WSUD) into the desired site layout.
In the end, the water quality of the stormwater runoff exceeded the objective set by the Queensland State Government. This represents a design that manages stormwater in such a way as to protect and enhance local environmental values while still meeting development objectives and giving an attractive functional asset to the future development.
