Project location:
- 3 Troost Circuit, Bellbird Park QLD 4300, Ipswich City Council
- L902 SP 286465
- 200m west of the Bellbird Park State Secondary College, at the corner of Jones Rd and Alesana Dr.
Key information
The project is the development of a new Child Care Centre at 3 Troost circuit, Bellbird Park. Civil and Water Design has undertaken the stormwater management and detailed design. Following the validation of the XPRAFTS model using Rational Method undertaken in accordance with the Queensland Urban Drainage Manual, the detention characteristics are demonstrated to be adequate to mitigate the peak flows back to a level lower than the pre-development flows for the 1yr ARI to the 100yr ARI event.
After the efficient communication with the adjoining properties, the detailed design of earthworks and stormwater drainage was conducted.
- Community use: Bellbird Park Early Learning Child Care Centre
- Existing land size: 2520 m²
- Pre-developed land: no vegetation, a gentle slope and poor drainage
- Bellbird Park Early Learning Centre will be registered with the Department of Education & Training as an 87-place centre for children from ages 0-12 years old
- A minimum of 22 parking spots
Our role
- Stormwater quantity management: on site detention design
- Detailed design: earthworks and stormwater drainage
- Provide to assessment manager written evidence (connection certificate)
- Make applications, including operational work
- Prepare for engineering (OPW) drawings certified by RPEQ
CWD Group difference:
- The XPRAFTS runoff routing model used to generate the hydrographs
- RPEQ certification of flexible joint detail for sanitary drainage
Overall outcome of the project
- Detention characteristics
- Demonstrated adequate tank size to offset impacts from the 1yr ARI to the 100yr ARI event
- The proposed detention system has sufficient capacity to mitigate the peak flows back to a level lower than pre-development flows
